Grace Pisirai serves as Electrical Design and Test Engineer under the Power Systems department for ZESA Enterprises (Pvt.) Ltd. (ZENT).
She handles tenders and design of solutions to meet the customer’s needs, as well as the preparation of projects bill of quantities and costing budgets.
Grace is also involved in the pre-commissioning of completed projects before handover to clients, a process which ensures that the construction meets the desired performance criteria.
As part of ZENT’s product development team, Grace oversees the development and revision of design standards and is also responsible for research and introduction of sustainable transformation in the current products/services offered by ZENT. She mentors students on attachment from polytechnics and university at ZENT.
Grace holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Zimbabwe (2011), a Diploma in Project Management (CCIP,2013) and a certificate in Contract Administration (2014). She is UN Women’s Empower Women 2016-2017 Champion for Change and 2017 Techwomen Emerging Leader.
Grace is also a member of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers (MZweIE) and the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe (Pr.Eng, ECZ).
She is co-founder to a start up, Purple Future Trust, which focuses on facilitating the uptake of STEM at all educational levels especially by women.
